LRC participated in the Clinical Laboratory Workshop that took place in Hospital de Sant Pau on April 22th. The objectives of this session were to think about clinical laboratories and their problems:
• Real situation
• Anticipated changes and management in front of the new economic and politic situation
• The roles of professionals
• Relationship Industry-Laboratories: innovation, alliances and research.
• Patient-focused laboratory: quality and service.
• Importance of consultant organs and work teams: relationship with the government.
In the first roundtable, moderated by Dr Jaume Estany, Dr Jaume Raventós, Conseller Delegat del Parc de Salut Mar, presented the lecture “Efficiency and sustainability”. Other LRC members that participated were Dr Carles Vilaplana who spoke about “Evidence-based Laboratory” and Dr Glòria Soria, about “Strategic alliances”.
