Laboratory plays a very important role in the Healthcare process. In the context of crisis and continuous change in what we are living, laboratory needs to adapt its service according to variable complexity and activity to give support to sophisticated investigation laboratories as well as to small and near-patient centers. In that way, POCT systems can be a good option.
Promoted by the Cátedra Extraordinaria Roche de Diagnóstico e Innovación from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and under the direction of Professor Fernando Bandrés, from the Departamento de Toxicología y Legislación Sanitaria, from Medicine Faculty of Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Dr David Martínez, Vicedecano of Medicine Faculty from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and Mr Javier Barreiro, Director of Centralized Diagnostics in Roche Diagnostics SL, a course Diploma de Coordinador Point-of-care took place.
In the course, German and Holland specialists presented their experience in POCT systems management. Spanish experience in Cotxeres de Borbó, in Barcelona, was presented by Dr Josep Serrat, Cotxeres manager, Dra Sònia Pérez, Medical Director, Nicolau Valladares, ATS,and Dra Glòria Sòria, manager assistant from LRC.
