A laboratory to your service

Dr Trampuz is internationally known for his work in diagnosis of articulation prosthesis infection, in which Dra Portillo has focused her assistance and investigation activity, working with the Trauma Service of the Hospital del Mar. As a result of this stage, a session titled The challenge to diagnose low-grade infections was presented by our colleague at The First Open Meeting of the European Knee Associates (EKA). Section of the European Society of Sports Traumatology Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA), in Viena.
Development of this diagnostic line will allow, as it is already doing, a great improvement in the difficult diagnose of prosthesis infection and its treatment, which occurs in 1-2% of primary implantation, reaching the 40% in re implantations.
